All Varsity fall teams named “Scholar Athlete Teams”

Monroe-Woodbury was a big winner when the 2017 Fall Scholar Athlete teams were announced. All 8 fall Varsity teams, including a total of 199 athletes, earned the 2017 “Scholar Athlete” title from The New York State Public High School Athletic Association (NYSPHSAA).

Scholar-Athlete teams require that 75 percent of the team rosters’ grade point average be 90.00 or above. This is the 26th year the NYSPHSAA has conducted the Scholar-Athlete program, which is sponsored by Pupil Benefits Plan, Inc.

The following Monroe-Woodbury Varsity teams were named 2017 Scholar-Athlete teams:

Boys Cross Country – Team’s average GPA: 94.198 – 42 students with 90.00 or greater GPA
Girls Cross Country – Team’s average GPA: 95.21 – 39 students with 90.00 or greater GPA
Varsity Football – Team’s average GPA: 91.36 – 23 students with 90.00 or greater GPA
Boys Soccer – Team’s average GPA: 93.208 – 17 students with 90.00 or greater GPA
Girls Soccer – Team’s average GPA: 93.526 – 17 students with 90.00 or greater GPA
Girls Swim – Team’s average GPA: 94.292 – 35 students with 90.00 or greater GPA
Girls Tennis – Team’s average GPA: 95.727 – 18 students with 90.00 or greater GPA
Volleyball – Team’s average GPA: 95.035 – 8 students with 90.00 or greater GPA
