Most food service employees begin as substitutes.  We offer an orientation to all new employees that provides them with the department's expectations and policies.  We also offer employee training and inservices throughout the school year.

SUBSTITUTE FOOD SERVICE POSITIONS ARE AVAILABLE NOW!

First-time substitute employees with the district wishing to substitute will need to be fingerprinted and have those prints submitted for a criminal background review process.  The current fee is $99, which is set by the New York State Education Department.  This fee must be paid by money order, made payable to NYSED.

HOW TO APPLY

Applications are available at the Education Center located at 278 Route 32, Central Valley, NY  10917, between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.  Be sure to bring the following to help make the process smoother and less stressful:

• A driver's license or other state-recognized photo ID and social security card
• Previous employment information
• Reference names and addresses
• A pen or pencil
