The Mission of Monroe-Woodbury Staff Development is to promote staff collaborations that provide opportunities for personal and professional growth, that support collegiality, and that advance high standards and quality education for all students.
Professional Development Plan
During the 1999-2000 school year, the New York State Education Department initiated a requirement for each school district to create, adopt, and implement a professional development plan (PDP) that would improve the quality of teaching and learning in all grades, in all content areas, and in all schools.
Please click on the link on the bottom of this page to access the June 2012 PDP.
For Your Information
In-service offerings accumulating hourly credit require an aggregate of 15 hours to equate to an in-service credit.
In-service credit is tied to both completion of course work and course attendance. In-service credit will not be applied to salary calculations if all course sessions are not attended.
Staff members should review current contract agreements for stipulations regarding in-service credit and salary calculation.
For further information contact the Staff Development Office.
In-service Course Registration
Teaching assistants, clerical, secretarial, and support staff must get prior approval from their Building Principal, Director, or Supervisor before registering for courses.
You can register for these courses via e-mail. Be sure to include your first and last name, building, grade/level/position, course name and number, and email address. Click on the link to send an e-mail to the Staff Development Office.
