Building Leadership Committee

The Building Leadership Committee (BLC) is a committee made up of parents, teachers, students and administrators. The BLC contributes to the building-level decision making process at Monroe-Woodbury High School. It is also a sub-committee of the District Leadership Council.

2013-2014 HS PTSA Executive Board

All positions are available.  Anyone interested in being considered for a position on the PTSA Executive board, please submit your name and contact information to the Nomination Chairperson, Kim Laskorski at krlmonroe@optonline.net  

You must be a current PTSA member to submit your name for candidacy.  The slate will be announced on May 20, 2013.  Voting will take place during the June PTSA meeting on June 4th at 7P.M.  “Additional nominations may be made from the floor provided the written consent of the nominee has been secured and the chair of the nominating committee has received notice at least two (2) business days prior to the election meeting of the candidate’s intention to run.”  This deadline is May 31, 2013.

Our Mission and Our Goals:

Monroe-Woodbury High School PTSA is proud to be an active part of our National PTA, the oldest and largest volunteer organization in the United States that works exclusively on behalf of our youth. In striving to fulfill the mission of the PTSA we:

  • Support and speak on behalf of youth.
  • Encourage parent and public involvement with the issues facing our youth today, both in and out of school.
  • Work to strengthen the relationship between home and school so that parents and teachers may collaboratively educate our youth.
  • Develop between educators and the general public unified efforts that will secure for all our youth, the highest advantages in public education.

Our goals for the school year are to:

  • Increase student involvement
  • Strengthen parent and teacher participation
  • Provide information on current topics through parent education programs
  • Build a sense of community within our school

Scholarships for graduating seniors (family member must join HS PTA to be eligible)

PTSA will be selling Crusader tee shirts by Forever Fierce all week through Thursday, October 7th, during lunch periods. The cost of the tee shirts is $15.00, cash or checks made payable to Monroe-Woodbury HS PTSA.
