M-W artists participate in “An Artist’s Response to Human Rights” exhibition

on November 29, 2017

Eighteen Monroe-Woodbury High School Portfolio Prep students are participating in “An Artist’s Response to Human Rights” exhibition sponsored annually by the Orange County Human Rights Commission. For the past seven years, Ms. McGuckin-Van Gelder’s students have participated in this annual exhibition.

The MWHS artists reviewed and researched the 30 articles outlined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. They each chose one of the 30 articles and created visual interpretations in a variety of media. Their artwork will be displayed at Orange Hall Gallery, SUNY Orange Middletown, December 1-14, 2017 and is open to the public.
