Pine Tree to hold Community Blood Drive on Friday, March 16

Pine Tree Elementary School will hold a Community Blood Drive from 3:30 – 8:00 p.m. on Friday, March 16 at the Pine Tree Elementary School cafeteria, 156 Pine Tree Road, Monroe. The school is working with the New York Blood Center to organize the event.

Eligible donors include those who are 16 years of age or older (16 year olds require parental permission; 76+ requires a doctor’s note), are at least 110 lbs, and are in general good health.

According to national statistics, every day there are more than 36,000 blood transfusions in the United States alone. Blood donors are vital to the survival of accident victims, recovery and treatment of cancer patients, survival of premature babies and many more.
