The Book Club at Pine Tree Elementary is a place where students can share their insights and enthusiasm about literature. The students read several novels and short stories, and facilitate a discussion through probing questions. The club members participate in an intellectual and positive social experience. The Book Club encourages a love for reading, while respecting individual's interpretations and insights.
The Talent Show offers students an opportunity to audition for a special performance! They demonstrate their great skills through a variety of personal talents. Our students perform their fabulous abilities in front of their peers! Parents are also invited to join us during an evening performance in June to share in the fun!
Green Thumbs Club is for fourth and fifth graders who are interested in gardening and beautifying the grounds of our school. Meetings are held throughout the year to plan, prepare and plant!
The Drama Club has been in existence for 9 years. The goal of the program is to provide elementary students with the experience of learning and performing basic theater skills: singing, dancing, speaking; introducing such elements as sound, lighting, costumes, props and scenery.
In addition to being fun and entertaining, the advisors strive to be sure that the words spoken and sung by the cast members are words worth hearing! To this end, recent plays presented have highlighted concepts such as Diversity (“Children of the World”); Environmental Awareness (“Assignment: EARTH”), Healthy Lifestyle choices (“Feelin’ Good”), and Cooperation and Conflict Resolution (“Project Peace”).
