HS Staff

Gail Frustace-O’Mara – 7-12 Department Coordinator

Ms. O’Mara graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Home Economics Education from SUNY @ Oneonta and with a Master of Science Degree in Human Development from Fairleigh Dickinson University.  She has been teaching in the district since 1984.  Ms. O’Mara is currently teaching both at the high school and the middle school.


        

 

Cheryl Cunningham-Colon has been teaching at Monroe-Woodbury High School since 1993. She is currently teaching Fashion and Foods and Nutrition.

Ms. Cunningham-Colon has an AAS degree in Pattern-making from Fashion Institute of Technology, a B.S. degree in Home Economics Education from Marymount, and an MS in Family Life Education from Montclair State University. Ms. Cunningham-Colon has been directing the MW Fashion Show for many years. More than 100 garments and accessories are designed, made and modeled by our High School students yearly.


 

Rosanna D'Amico teaches Foods and Nutrition I, II and III, and Fashion I. She has developed the Interior Design course, which she teaches at the high school. She graduated from Queens College with a BA in Home Economics. Rosanna has her Masters degree in Instructional Technology Education from New York Institute of Technology.


 

Eileen Garvey has a Bachelor of Science in Social Work, certified in Home Economics, and has a Masters degree in Literacy Education from Adelphi University.  Prior to becoming a teacher she worked for Cornell Cooperative Extension as a Parenting Coordinator.  She has developed the Parenting course in the high school that presently meets the Parenting Education mandate that was established by New York State Department of Education.  Mrs. Garvey is an advisor for the Safe School Ambassador program in the high school.


 
  

Mary Ann Kostelnik has been teaching at Monroe-Woodbury High School since 1990. She teaches Foods & Nutrition I, II & Human Relations I. She has an AS in Hotel Restaurant Management, a BS in Home Economics Education, and an MS in Family Life Education. Ms. Kostelnik has developed the following courses: Foods and Nutrition I & II, Human Relations I & II, and Foods and Human Relations. She is presently an advisor for the Safe School Ambassador program in the high school.


Shari Lamberg has been teaching at Monroe-Woodbury High School since 2007. She has taught Foods and Nutrition I, Foods and Nutrition II and Human Relations I. She has a B.S. in Family and Consumer Sciences Education and Human Ecology from the State University of New York College at Oneonta. She is now pursuing her Masters degree in Humanistic Multicultural Education from the State University of New York  at New Paltz. She also enjoys working with the students as a faculty advisor for the Freshman Class and the Ski and Snowboarding Club.


 

Lisa Mongelli-Pirraglia has been teaching at Monroe Woodbury CSD since 1992. She has taught at the elementary, middle school and high school levels. She has taught Human Relations 1, Fashion, Foods and Nutrition I & II, Parenting, and Early Childhood I & II.  She is a graduate from College of St. Elizabeth with a BS Degree and a Masters degree from Mount St. Mary’s in N-12 Education and Special Education. She enjoys facilitating the Little Miracles Preschool Program.


Grace Gerard began teaching in Monroe-Woodbury School District in 1997. She has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Home Economics Education and is certified in New York and New Jersey. Mrs. Gerard also holds a Master of Science in Guidance and Counseling.  She also has over 15 years experience in corporate training as well as career counseling. Mrs. Gerard currently teaches both at the high school and middle school, and is faculty advisor of The Helping Hands, a middle school FACS club.
