MW Middle School Students Travel to Syracuse for NYSBDA Honor Band

The following Middle School Students are traveling to Syracuse this weekend to represent Monroe-Woodbury at the annual New York State Band Directors Association (NYSBDA) Conference.  These students were selected based on their NYSSMA scores and compared to the top performing students from all over New York State.  Mr. Franklin, Mr. Walther and Mr. Regan have prepared the students to represent Monroe-Woodbury at this prestigious event.  In addition, Mr. Franklin is the acting co-president of NYSBDA and will be busy putting on a successful conference.

We wish them the best of luck!

Each of the state music educators associations in the Eastern Division (CT, DC, DE, MA, MD, ME, NH, NJ, NY, RI, PA, VT, Europe) oversee the selection process in their state during the Spring and early Fall of the year before the event and compile ranked lists of recommended juniors and seniors for consideration.

The 2013 NAfME All-Eastern Honors Ensembles will perform for an audience of thousands on Sunday, April 7, 2013, at the Bushnell Center for the Performing Arts, Mortensen Hall, in Hartford, Connecticut
