3 M-W Employees named 2021 Mid-Hudson School Study Council Awards for Excellence honorees

At the October 6 Monroe-Woodbury Board of Education meeting, three M-W employees were recognized as recipients of the 2021 Mid-Hudson School Study Council Awards for Excellence. Each year, the organization honors those in the education field for excellence.

Long-time Monroe-Woodbury employee Aldis Ansons has gone to extraordinary measures to meet the needs of our school community, as evidenced by the countless hours of coordinating food distributions throughout the pandemic. Aldis personally worked alongside his staff to ensure families had healthy food.

During the tumultuous and ever-changing year, Denise played a vital role in making sure that our school community was supported. She made countless home visits and stayed in communication with our most at-risk families to ensure that no child fell through the cracks. Her ability to navigate complex situations and offer support to students in the most challenging of situations makes her a critical member of our M-W team.

Annie Kikel

Annie possesses those qualities that we hope for in all employees who work directly with students with special support needs. She nurtures her relationships with students with kindness, patience and an ability to support them through their daily challenges with a positive attitude that empowers her students.
