A message to Sapphire families

on October 16, 2020

Message from Superintendent Rodriguez headerDear Sapphire families,

The school district has just been informed that a staff member at Sapphire Elementary School has tested positive for COVID-19. As a result, all Sapphire students who were in school on Wednesday, October 14 and Thursday, October 15, will be required to quarantine for 14 days, as ordered by the Orange County Health Department.

All Sapphire students will be fully remote for the next 14 days. The B group will return to the building on Friday, October 30. A and D Groups will return on Tuesday, November 3.

According to the Health Department, all students will be required to bring a doctor’s note upon their return. We realize this places an undue burden on our families. If you require assistance fulfilling this requirement, please contact the Health Department at 845-360-6600.

We know these sudden changes are unsettling. However, the Health Department firmly believes this action is necessary to keep all children safe. Please contact Ms. Caldwell at 845-460-6500 or visit the Orange County Health Department website for more information.

Sincerely,

Elsie Rodriguez
Superintendent of Schools
