Student Password Change

Password management is an important aspect of technology education in Monroe-Woodbury. Students are responsible for their personal accounts in the Student Portal and in the district Google email and apps.

What passwords should students change?

  1. The Student Portal allows students in grades 6-12 to change their login password. (number 1 below)
  2. Students at any grade level can change their passwords in their district Gmail/Google accounts. (number 2 below)

Students are encouraged to change these passwords.

1. How to change the Student Portal password:

Click on the Account Preferences option in the left Navigation Menu

Choose the Change Password option

Type the new password and re-type it.

Note that the new password must contain at least 8 characters

Be sure to Save Changes!

2. How to change the student Google account password:

It is a very good idea to change your email password frequently, and ANY TIME you think your district email account login may have been seen by someone else. Changing your Google email password also changes the password to your Google apps such as Classroom, Drive and Calendar.

Follow the instructions below:

In your email inbox, click on the icon on the top right of your screen.

Click on Google Account.

Choose Security and Click on Signing in to Google.

Note the instructions on signing in and particularly the paragraph about choosing a strong password!

Click the arrow to the right of the date your password was last changed.

You will be required to log in using your existing password before you can change it to a new one.

Remember to make your password hard to guess. Use capital and lowercase letters, numbers and special characters.
