
Congratulations to seniors Anthony Bruno and Emma Khorassini who have earned the Senior Scholar-Athlete Award from the Orange County Interscholastic Athletics Association (OCIAA).
Bruno served as co-captain of the boys varsity swim team and was part of the school record-holding team in the 200 Free Relay and the pool record-holding team in all three relays.
He is the Anthony C. Quinn Scholarship recipient and was named 2020 Co-Most Valuable Player. In addition, he is treasurer of National Honor Society and a member of the Italian Honor Society and Interact. Bruno will be studying engineering at the Naval Academy.
Khorassani was captain of the girls varsity swim team and was a sections qualifier.
She is a member of the National Honor Society, STARS, SADD and is a LEAD mentor. She will be attending the University of Maryland.
The Senior Scholar-Athlete Award is given to a girl and boy in each OCIAA member school. The guidelines for selection are:
A. Top 20% class ranking
B. Participation in at least one varsity sport
C. Above average athlete
D. Outstanding citizenship
