Black History Month graphic

During the month of February, several Pine Tree students participated in a building-wide activity centered around Black History Month and individuals who have greatly impacted our world.  Students selected an individual to research and then completed one of the following projects:

A: Letter of Appreciation: Study one person you are interested in and reflect on your selected person’s struggles, achievements, personal qualities, and contributions to society.  Students will write a letter of appreciation to their person.  Students should be specific about why they appreciate the person to whom they are writing.

B: Reflective Essay:
State Accomplishment(s)/Contribution(s) to History
Describe how these efforts have made our society better today
Describe how they have inspired you in your life

C: Complete a one page mini-poster
Document Person’s Name who you are studying
Draw a picture that represents this person
Write three or four sentences that best describe this person
Document dates of birth, birthplace and death (if applicable)
Write your favorite quote that this person was famous for stating

The final products were thoughtfully crafted and wonderfully written. Well done, Pine Tree!
