on April 29, 2021

Artwork by nine of Monroe-Woodbury’s talented student artists has been selected for entry into the 39th Annual Congressional Art Competition sponsored by The Office of Representative Sean Patrick Maloney.

In early May, a panel of local judges will select a grand prize winner from among student entries from throughout the congressional district. The winning entry will be displayed for a year in the United States Capitol alongside artwork from across the country. The winning students will also be recognized at an annual awards ceremony. This opportunity provides our students with the chance to showcase their impressive creativity and talent alongside some of the best young artists from across the country.

Select your “fan favorite” on Facebook

In addition to the grand prize, Congressman Maloney’s office will crown a “Facebook Fan Favorite.” All the art entered in the contest will be posted on the congressman’s official Facebook page (  from May 3 – May 7 and everyone throughout the Hudson Valley will have the chance to vote for their favorite during that period. Votes are cast by “Likes” for each individual artwork.
