Welcome Back Crusaders!!

We are so excited to kick off the 2021-22 school year with all of you! We hope that you have enjoyed some time away from school and had a happy and healthy summer. The building is ready and we are so grateful for the opportunity to return to having everyone back in person. Please review the important information below so that you are fully prepared for the start of the school year:

COVID-19 Protocols:

  • Masks: Masks will be required to be worn by staff, students, and visitors returning to the building. If you are in need of a mask, please just ask any adult as you enter the building.
  • Screening: Screener questionnaires and temperature checks for students are no longer required upon entering the building. Parents are reminded to keep their children home if they are not feeling well.
  • Social Distancing: Students are strongly encouraged to maintain social distancing whenever possible. We recognize that this will not be possible in all settings, however, social distancing minimizes the risk of transmission of infection as well as the number of people required to quarantine if there is a positive case.

ParentPortal:

Student schedule information will be posted in the ParentPortal today.

Supplies:

Please come to school with your Chromebook fully charged and ready for a great first day of learning. Students should turn Chromebooks on prior to the first day of school to allow for updates to load, as this can take some time. Students should also bring a writing utensil and something to write on to be fully prepared for learning.

Lockers:

In order to maximize space in the hallways and maintain distance, we will not be using lockers this year.

BackPacks:

Students will be permitted to carry a backpack with them throughout the school day. Student Athletes who have equipment packs will be permitted to store them in the locker rooms and should drop them off at that location before heading to Advisory.

Building Tours:

This is just a reminder that we will welcome our new and returning students alike to join us during our building tours this week. This is a great opportunity to get a feel for the building and know where you are going on the first day. During the day on Aug. 24 (9:00 am to 12:00 pm) we are welcoming all 8th grade students, on Wednesday, Aug. 25, we have our 7th grade students, and on Thursday, Aug. 26, we have our 6th grade students. Any students who are unable to attend daytime sessions, are welcome to join us Tuesday night (8/24) between 6:00 pm and 8:00 pm. Parents are welcome to join students in the tours and we strongly encourage all individuals to wear masks inside of the building.

Please click here to view the virtual orientation. This is a good overview of MWMS for students and parents. If you have any questions, you can approach any staff member or NJHS volunteer during the building tours, or contact us via email or phone call.
