Boys Track and Field also O.C.I.A.A. winners!

Boys Track and Field teamThis past Saturday the Monroe-Woodbury Boys were crowned O.C.I.A.A. Indoor Track and Field Champions besting a field of 25 teams.  The Crusaders totaled 92 points over the 16 event competition.  It was a total team effort with 19 boys contributing at least one point to the team’s total.  Sophomore Owen Kelly was the Crusaders’ lone event champion, winning the long jump on his final attempt with a leap of 20 feet 0.5 inches.  Monroe-Woodbury’s point total was padded by 5 runner-up finishes and 5 third place finishes.  The Crusaders have now won 7 of the past 10 O.C.I.A.A. Boys Indoor Track and Field titles and an astounding 22 of 45 dating back to the inception of the meet in the early 1970’s.
