March 17, 2020

Our Monroe-Woodbury team of administrators and teachers has been working hard in recent weeks to create a variety of online resources for our students and families. We know that there is no perfect way of replicating the instruction our students receive in the classroom. The resource pages consist of links to relevant sources that will support your child’s learning during the extended school closure. The goal is to minimize regression and keep students sharp for their return to school.

These Academic Resources can be found on the Coronavirus Updates page in the QuickLinks section on the district homepage. This page is a good place to start when you have a question or your child is in need of support. In addition to the links to the Academic pages, you will find important resources for our families, including information about free or reduced cost WiFi, emotional support systems, food distribution and more.

Materials are broken down by grade level and subject matter. Students should be familiar with some, if not all, of the sites. Our teachers purposely selected tools they use frequently in the classroom. We have provided login information if a site is password protected. If you have any problems, please fill out this Online Help Form and a member of our technology staff will be in touch to assist you. This support service will be available Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Teachers will be checking their emails on a regular basis and will be responding to student or parent/guardian inquiries.

We will all work together to do our best for our students as we continue to navigate this situation day by day.

Food distribution

The Monroe-Woodbury Central School District Food Services Department will provide breakfast and lunch items for district students in need during the long term school closure.

Food will be available for pick up from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays at the front entrances of Central Valley Elementary, 45 Route 32, Central Valley and North Main Elementary, 212 North Main Street, Monroe. Food will be available on a weekly basis while schools are closed. We will follow up with a schedule for next week.  Families are asked to please bring their own bags when coming to pick up food.

If you require a special diet, please contact Food Services at [email protected] and we will do our best to accommodate your request.

Children with a parent or guardian who becomes unemployed or experiences a loss of household income may be eligible for free and reduced price school meals. You may apply at any time during the school year. We urge you to apply as soon as possible so that eligible students can access breakfast and lunch when school resumes after the extended break. While the school offices are closed, please apply online using the Titan Meal System application.

There are several community agencies and food pantries also offering food and meals for community members. Check out the Community Food Resources page on the district website for a detailed schedule of additional food resources.
