Strategic Plan survey deadline extended until Feb. 13; view Supt. video message

on February 2, 2018

The Monroe-Woodbury Central School District has recently embarked upon a strategic planning process that will result in a multi-year plan with guiding principles and goals that support the vision and mission adopted by our Board of Education. We are at the beginning stage of this process, which will actively involve students, parents, community and business representatives, as well as district staff and administrators.

An initial step in the process requires input and ideas from our community. This information, gathered through a series of anonymous surveys, will help identify the district’s strengths and weaknesses and guide us as we establish priorities for the next five years. Students in grades 3-12 will have an opportunity to conduct the survey during school hours. The survey should take approximately 15-20 minutes to complete and will now be available until Tuesday, February 13, 2018.

For families with out of district placement students, please check the “other” box when asked to identify a school building, and then fill out only what is applicable to you. When you get to Step 4 of the survey, the questions are open ended and we invite you to share information about your experiences.

Your opinion matters! Thank you!

Please be assured that survey responses will remain anonymous and be compiled by PLC Associates, Inc., a consulting firm that will serve as advisor and facilitator throughout the strategic planning process. Community input is invaluable as we proceed with long-term planning.

“I encourage each and every member of the M-W community to complete the survey. The success of this planning process is dependent upon information and opinions gleaned from our stakeholders. When all is said and done, the plan will serve as a blueprint that clearly defines the district’s action steps and goals that will sustain the district for years to come,” said Superintendent of Schools Elsie Rodriguez.

Topics of importance identified by stakeholders in the survey will guide our Task Force efforts. These Task Forces will develop the operational aspects of the strategic plan by examining specific areas such as student achievement, community connections and more.

Mrs. Rodriguez will share updates on a regular basis during Board of Education meetings and on the strategic planning page on the district website. Please contact Mrs. Rodriguez directly at [email protected] or at 845-460-6200, ext. 6201 if you have questions related to the strategic planning process.
