Message from Pine Tree letterhead

Wednesday, April 22, 2020

Hi Pine Tree Families:

Today, April 22, 2020, is the 50th Anniversary of Earth Day. Happy Earth Day everyone! On this day, people all over the world will celebrate Earth Day. This year’s theme is “Climate Action”, as scientists feel that climate change is one of the biggest challenges our earth faces. What can families do not just on Earth Day, but every day? Visit earthday.org for great ideas on water conservation, recycling, and proper disposing of unused paint. These are just some examples of what we can do.

Two books that can be found about Earth Day are: “Not for Me, Please! I Choose to Act Green” by Maria Godsey and “Thank you, Earth: A love Letter to Our Planet” by April Pulley Sayre.

Finally, students can safely visit these following web sites to learn more about the 50th Anniversary of Earth Day: earthday.org/earth-day-tips and earthday.org/earth-day-quizzes.

Thank you all and enjoy Earth Day!
