Gabrielle Nebiker is the Athlete of the Week

Track athlete of the weekThe Monroe-Woodbury Athletic Director, Lori Hock, would like to announce that Gabrielle Nebiker is the “Athlete of the Week” for the week ending May 3, 2019 for the Monroe-Woodbury Girls Varsity Track and Field team coached by William Mpasiakos.

Gabrielle Nebiker has been a member of the Varsity Girls Outdoor Track and Field program for four years. She is a perennial NYSPHSAA Scholar-Athlete maintaining a ninety average and a major contributor to the Monroe-Woodbury track program She has helped the team win 3 consecutive O.C.I.A.A. and Section IX Championships over the past three years. Gabrielle has a work ethic second to none and always gives one-hundred percent.

This season Gabrielle has been a force in the pole vault and 400m intermediate hurdles, scoring many points for her team. In the 400m hurdles, she won the Pearl River Pirate Relays. She placed second at Cornwall’s Green Dragon Relays and second at the Red Raider Relays at North Rockland. She has won thus far every 400m hurdle race in the dual meet part of our season. She is one of Section IX’s top athletes in the 400m hurdles. She is also a master at the pole vault making the state meet in the indoor season for a second time this past indoor season. Gabrielle has placed first or second in various meets this season, including winning the pole vault relay at the Pearl River Pirate Relays and Cornwall Dragon Relays. Gabrielle has been a special athlete for the Lady Crusaders and has made a monumental impact for the Monroe-Woodbury Varsity Girls Track and Field Team.
