Good luck to M-W Odyssey of the Mind teams at Regionals March 10

Central Valley OM team membersNearly 500 local students, making up 71 teams from 13 schools in Orange and Dutchess Counties, will challenge each other in the day-long Mid-Hudson Regional Odyssey of the Mind Competition at OU BOCES in Goshen on Saturday, March 10.

Seven outstanding teams will represent Monroe-Woodbury.

Team Hagadorn from North Main: Jaqway Ingram, Arianna Napoleoni, Andrew O’Hare, Katelyn Quinones, Brody Loyd, Mason Scarano and Ema Tufekcic

Team Mandarino/Manning-Piren from Pine Tree: Alana Bencosme, Kariana Diaz, Kaia Glander, Kyle Imhof, Mckayla Kim, Anthony Leone and Zachary Rowen-Delson

Team Peterson from Pine Tree: Danielle Baig, Valerie Davelman, Daniela Gunning, Dylan McCann, William Nicoll, Natalie Proulx and Isabel Wolgamuth

Team Hutter from the Middle School: Sophie Baer, Leanne Fernandes, Emma Shae Filinow, Avlinn Jaskowski, Amara Leitner, Mark Lee and Julia McHugh

Team McInerney from the Middle School: Anushree Buragohain, Jamie Calub, Colin Davidson, James Dawson, Khushi Girish, Shreya Girish and Isabelle Varghese

Team Wetzstein/Blumberg from the High School: Alexi Berges, Breyanna Campbell, Sofie Collado, Jack Kralik, Natalie Sirignano, Octivia Stevens and Angelique Vasquez

OM students from the Middle SchoolOdyssey of the Mind focuses on creative problem-solving using a team approach. Teams prepare a skit presenting the solution to a problem posed in one of five categories.  At the competition, they are scored on creativity, style and resourcefulness both in the response to their problem and in spontaneous solutions to additional questions asked by the judges.
