Heartfelt gratitude from Superintendent of Schools Elsie Rodriguez

Message from the Superintendent heading

Today I am struggling to put words to paper because emotions keep getting in the way. Yesterday’s gesture of love and celebration for our graduating class literally rendered me speechless. Words simply cannot express how much your efforts mean to our students, and to our community as a whole.

Monroe-Woodbury has proven time and again that we are a district built upon a foundation of love, resilience and respect. Together, we can overcome any obstacles or difficulties that come our way.

The love and compassion shown by our All Night Graduation Party volunteers, CARES members, PTA members, parents, teachers, BOE members, administrators and community members truly inspired hope and served as a reminder that Crusader pride and spirit is alive and well. All of the hours spent behind the scenes coordinating Senior goodie bags with mementos and personal notes from teachers did not go unnoticed. The special events as students arrived, Mr. Kaste in a dunking booth, the music and the DJ announcing and congratulating each senior truly touched our hearts. Special thanks to M-W alumnus Senator James Skoufis for making a guest appearance!

Each and every smile and wave, all the virtual hugs, made yesterday’s event one that will live in our hearts always – a bright light in these uncertain times.

With heartfelt gratitude,

Elsie Rodriguez
Superintendent of Schools
