FBLA spring district meeting award winners

On February 1, Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) members from Monroe-Woodbury High School attended the Spring District Meeting for 3N at Carmel High School. Many members competed in elimination events such as public speaking, basic decision making and job interviews. Members also took practice tests such as accounting 1, business calculations and business law. For many, this was their first competitive event in the club. Monroe-Woodbury Middle School FBLA also attended their first competition since the chapter was chartered in September 2018 and one of the district’s middle school attendees placed in an elimination event.

Eleven FBLA members took awards home, making Monroe-Woodbury very proud. Award winners include: Kate Yoon – 1st Place in the Accounting 1 test; Varsha Jegan – 2nd Place for Introduction to FBLA; Kyle Nematz – 2nd Place in Business Calculations; Matthew Edelstein – 2nd Place in Introduction to Public Speaking; Derek Li – 2nd Place in Client Services; Daniel Luo – 3rd Place in Introduction to Financial Math; Kate Yoon – 3rd Place in Public Speaking; Daniel Schapira – 4th Place in Introduction to FBLA; Matthew Ebenhoe – 4th Place in Business Communications; Visakhi Miriyapalli (MW Middle School) – 4th Place in Basic Decision Making; and Daniel Luo – 5th Place in Basic Decision Making.
