Dear Central Valley families,

I am sure that by now you have noticed the Route 17 construction project is well underway. The NYS Department of Transportation (DOT) has been working in areas behind Central Valley Elementary and has also been clearing trees in front of the school. We expect work to continue in areas surrounding the building for several months to come.

While crews will be working adjacent to the school building, we want to reassure you that student instruction will continue uninterrupted. We are also collaborating with the DOT to ensure minimal disruption to our CV families as they travel to and from our school building.

It’s important to note that construction planned for the summer months includes reconfiguration of the front parking lot of Central Valley Elementary and relocation of the existing front entrances and exits. The DOT has created a website that provides updated information related to the project. Please visit the Route 17/Exit 131 construction project page for more details.

Please contact me directly at 845-460-6700, ext. 6701 or email ravilesrodriguez@mw.k12.ny.us if you have any questions or concerns.

Thank you for your understanding and patience.

Sincerely,

Rebecca Aviles-Rodriguez
Principal
