MS students apply design lessons to local restaurant

on December 26, 2019

Monroe-Woodbury Middle School students applied what they learned in class to a real world project. The Middle School Home and Careers curriculum includes a unit about the elements and principles of design. In a unique collaboration of the M-W community, faculty and an area business, students, along with their teachers Beth Rickli, Stephanie Rizzi, and Amy Wallace were decorated The Tequila Grill in Monroe with a festive holiday theme. M-W families supported their effort by providing many of the decorations included in the display. The project was such a success that the teachers hope to make this an annual part of the curriculum by selecting one area restaurant to decorate every December.

Special thanks to The Tequila Grill for allowing the following students to participate in this unique opportunity: Kalin Aubry-Shea, Charlotte Bacsardi, Olivia Cooper, Giovanni DeGiglio, Shane Golio, Samya Khan, Olivia Masiello, Madelyn McCleary, Kayla Patino, Emily Roy, Shaheera Shaik, Riley Teye-Mensah
