COVID Update: MS to remain fully remote until Tuesday, Feb. 2

on January 25, 2021

Message from Superintendent letterhead
January 25, 2021

Dear Monroe-Woodbury families,

The school district has confirmed five COVID-19 positive cases in Monroe-Woodbury Middle School. These cases include:

1 – student (Cohort A)
1 – student (Cohort B)
1 – staff member
2 – teachers

Unfortunately, these cases have resulted in the quarantine of 30+ staff members and hundreds of students. To ensure continuity of learning for our students, the middle school will remain on fully remote instruction through the remainder of this week. The quarantine period will conclude on Monday, February 1, and we hope to welcome students and staff back to the building on Tuesday, February 2.

We will update you if further changes to student schedules are necessary. Modified sports are canceled today as contact tracing is completed and will resume tomorrow as planned.

Contact tracing for all impacted students and staff is underway and is expected to be completed this evening. If you do not hear from the school district by tonight, you may assume your child is not at risk for exposure.

Please email MWMS Principal Michael Maesano at [email protected] with any questions.

Warm regards,

Elsie Rodriguez
Superintendent of Schools
