Olivia Doughty is Athlete of the Week

Golf Athlete of the Week DoughtyThe Monroe-Woodbury Athletic Director, Lori Hock, would like to announce that Olivia Doughty is the “Athlete of the Week” for the week ending May 4, 2018 for the Monroe-Woodbury Girls Varsity Golf team coached by William Earl.

Olivia Doughty is a four-year member of the Girls Golf Team. She has been a dedicated participant and leader on the team since she began as a ninth grader. Her dedication to the sport is evident by the amount of practice and preparation she puts into every match. Olivia’s goal this season is to return to the Section IX Tournament which will be held on May 21st and May 23rd at Apple Greens Golf Course in New Paltz. She would then qualify for the NYSPHSAA Girls Golf Championship at Bethpage State Park in Long Island.

Aside from golfing, Olivia has been a 4-year Scholar Athlete, member of the National Honor Society, and a member of the National Art Honor Society. When she is not at the Monroe Country Club practicing her short game, she can be found volunteering at the Hudson Valley Chapter of the SPCA. Olivia also has a passion for music and dance. She plays the flute in Wind Ensemble and performs with the Broadway Dance Center in NYC. She has recently committed to UCLA, where she will study Psychobiology and English this fall.
