Message From Mr. Giudice

Pine Tree school year is off to a great start. The first few months of school was trying with regard to our instructional staff navigating the start of the school year with no technology. Credit to our teaching, office, cafeteria, and transportation staff for making sure students were safe and instruction continued as expected. We had a very special visitor in October. The creator of our Social Emotional Curriculum, Mrs. Scarlett Lewis visited Pine Tree and was introduced to several classrooms, staff, and administration.

Her Choose Love curriculum is providing support to help teach our children about “courage,” “gratitude,” “forgiveness,” and “ compassion.”  These four key components make up “The Choose Love Formula.” Pine Tree students in Madagascar Jr.As we embark into the second trimester, we continue to remind parents of the importance of attendance, being on time, and finishing off the school day through 3:35 PM.

Additionally, on half days, please make sure they make every attempt to make sure their child is in school as instruction takes place on these half days. Finally, administration wants to congratulate our students and staff for their wonderful performances during their Winter Concerts. The students sounded amazing and we are all so proud of them and the music staff for preparing them in such short period of time. Finally, congratulations to our Pine Tree Drama Club for their amazing week in November when the students performed Madagascar Jr.   They performed for four full audiences for well over 1,000 spectators. Great job teachers and students for another wonderful Drama Club presentation.

Mr. Giudice

Mr. Martin’s Notes

As we approach the holiday season, we have a lot to be thankful for.  We are a community with many gifts and talents, which we share daily with one another and most important, our students. We are thankful to have the most dedicated and nurturing teachers to support the children here at Pine Tree Elementary. I am grateful to the parents for masterfullyPine Tree students in Madagascar Jr. doing what I know firsthand is the hardest, most rewarding and joyous job of all. Thank you for entrusting us with your most precious gift. I am grateful to our wonderful, talented, creative, inquisitive, optimistic, resourceful and resilient students. Often, they make us laugh, sometimes they make us cry, but always they make us think. Most of all, they make us better.

In the spirit of this holiday season, I want to extend my thanks to all of you for everything that you do for our school. To the parents and friends of the Pine Tree Elementary community, please have a safe and joyous holiday season. Enjoy the time off with your children, we look forward to what the rest of the year will bring!!!

What Is Choose Love!

Charlotte Lewis with Bryan GiudiceChoosing Love means having the courage to be grateful when life isn’t easy, to forgive when the person who hurt you isn’t sorry, and to step outside your own pain to help someone else. This social emotional learning program was created by Scarlett Lewis, mother of Jesse Lewis, who was shot and killed during the Sandy Hook tragedy. It focuses on 4 pillars; Courage, Gratitude, Forgiveness and Compassion to empower our students to positively impact themselves and others.
