Pine Tree Reflections Award Winners

on February 6, 2019

The Reflections Program is a National PTA and New York State PTA cultural arts competition that gives students confidence in their abilities to explore ideas and learn through the arts. Each year hundreds of thousands of students in preschool through grade 12 create and submit original works in the areas of dance choreography, film production, literature, music composition, photography and visual arts. The 2018-2019 Reflections theme “Heroes Around Me” gave students the opportunity to create art in regards to the role models in their life.

Reflections award winnersThirteen students from Pine Tree Elementary participated in the variety of categories, some students entered multiple times. First, second, and third place winners and all participants were awarded ribbons and certificates.  Several parents and family members attended the assemblies honoring the children who went above and beyond to express their creativity through the annual Reflections project. They also promoted next year’s theme, “Within Me.”

Three students whose work advanced to NY State PTA judging, will find out in several weeks if their work wins an award at the State Level. Advancing to the State level is quite an honor! Good luck to Rebecca Neumann for her Music Composition Entry and Gianna Henriquez and Cheyenne Dezio for their separate Photography Entries.

Thanks to the Pine Tree PTA for their support during this annual event and especially Reflections Chairperson, Mrs. Wernli for her hard work.
