Reminder: morning drop-off procedures at high school and middle school

on January 30, 2018

As we reach the midpoint of the school year, we want to reinforce morning drop-off procedures at the middle school and high school. We recognize it is busy at our school buildings at this time of day, but ask that you kindly adhere to the following procedures when dropping off your child:

  • The busiest times for drop off occur between 6:50 a.m. – 7:15 a.m. at the high school and 7:50 a.m. – 8:15 a.m. at the middle school. This is especially evident during the winter months when we are dealing with inclement weather and low visibility conditions. Parents may wish to consider having their children take the school bus or plan to drop them off a bit earlier.
  • Please DO NOT drop your child off on the roadside and allow them to walk to the buildings. It is dark during the early morning hours, which makes it more difficult for drivers to see pedestrians.
  • Please drive all the way into the designated drop-off area at the school building. We want to be sure that everyone safely enters our buildings.
  • The posted school zone speed limit is 30 mph. Please do not exceed this speed limit. Police will be monitoring the area and signage has been added on Dunderberg Road to remind drivers of these important safety precautions.

Thank you for doing your part in helping ensure the safety of all students and staff. If you have any questions related to the drop-off procedures, please reach out to your child’s building principal.
