SADD holds Letters to Santa campaign to benefit Make*A*Wish

SADD Students and Advisor put M-W students' letters in Santa's Mailbox to benefit Make a Wish.

On December 5 student members of (Students Against Destructive Decisions) SADD organized a Letters to Santa campaign in conjunction with Macy’s and The Hudson Valley Chapter of Make*A*Wish. Students collected a total of 1,435 letters in the large and small cafeterias with the help of Kids Changing the World (KCW) members. Each letter submitted earned a donation of $2, or a total or $2,870 for Make*A*Wish.

SADD students put Letters to Santa in mailbox to benefit Make a Wish.Holly Martucci (M-W SADD advisor) and two student members of SADD (Julianna Martucci and Reilly Groff, both grade 9) delivered the letters to the Middletown Macy’s store on Macy’s Believe Day, Friday, December 6. Macy’s store manager, a representative from the Wish House in Tarrytown and a local wish family from Cornwall spoke during a ceremony about the importance of wishes in providing hope to families. Monroe-Woodbury High School students were mentioned for their contribution to the effort. During the ceremony, M-W students Julianna and Reilly assisted the “wish child” submit the letters written by the students of Monroe-Woodbury High School to a big red mailbox.
