Smith Clove first grader epitomizes #Crusaderpride

on May 25, 2018

Smith Clove first grader Ethan greets each day with a smile and determination, even though he has faced many obstacles in his seven short years. The First Grade Mile Run was no exception.

While other students completed the run, Ethan was still making his way around the track. He refused to give up, even as one by one, other students crossed the finish line. This is when the magic happened!

M-W High School students joined Ethan on the track to encourage him as he neared the finish line. His fellow students led a chant and parents, teachers and others in the crowd joined in. Ethan let nothing deter him from completing the run, and his M-W family was there by his side every step of the way.

Ethan’s can-do spirit truly represents what being a Crusader is all about. Determination. Heart. Courage. What an inspiration!

Being a Crusader is so much more than about what we achieve in the classroom or on a field. It’s about never giving up and about the people who support us along the way.

Thank you, Ethan, for this reminder about how #crusaderpride is alive and well in our district. You are amazing!
