Social media threat found to be non-credible

on September 15, 2017

Late last evening, the Monroe-Woodbury Central School District was made aware by the Woodbury Police Department of an unsubstantiated social media threat made to the high school. The school district and the Woodbury and Harriman Police Departments immediately conducted a joint investigation.

The investigation has resulted in the identification of a student who was involved in the incident. The individual’s name will not be released because the student is a minor. The threat has been determined to be non-credible. The school district is taking appropriate measures and consequences will be assigned accordingly.

The high school will follow a regular schedule on Friday, September 15. As an extra precaution, there will be an increased police presence on campus.

The safety and security of our students and staff is always our first priority. If you have questions or concerns, please contact Principal John Kaste at 460-7000.
