Here is what MWMS Principal Michael Maesano has to say about Renee:

“She has made sure that every student is fed every day through lockdowns and re-openings. She is a truly special person who is kind and compassionate with every student and parent she interacts with. She is all about doing what is best for kids.”

A Conversation with MWMS Cook Manager Renee Keys

Q: How long have you been working at Monroe-Woodbury?
A: 28 wonderful years!

Q: What do you do in your position each day?
A: I am the cook manager for the kitchen/cafeteria. I prepare breakfast, lunch and do all the food ordering. I do the inventory. I manage 13 girls with all different personalities!! I address all the concerns of parents if the need arises.

Q: What is your favorite part of your job? *
A: The students, of course.

Q: It’s been a crazy year! How do you stay motivated?
A: I have a wonderful staff and we all work well together. There is plenty of laughter in the kitchen. I know we eventually will get back to our old normal.

Q:
If there was one thing you would like people to know about you, what would it be?
A: I have a lot of patience and take my job very seriously. I always go out of my way to make a child happy and well fed.

Do you have anything you want to say to our families or students?

A: Stay safe and healthy. If you ever need anything, please feel free to call me anytime. Your children are and always will be my priority.
