Statement Clarification regarding OU BOCES fall schedule

on August 6, 2020

At last night’s Monroe-Woodbury Board of Education meeting, Superintendent of Schools Elsie Rodriguez alluded to OU BOCES following an “A/B/C” schedule in the fall.

To clarify, OU BOCES provides two services to the school district: out of district placement for special education students and career and technical education programs (CTE) for MWHS students.

When addressing the fall schedule, Mrs. Rodriguez was referring to only CTE, which will be offered by OU BOCES on an A/B five day rotating schedule. While the CTE schedule and the hybrid model offered by Monroe-Woodbury will differ, the school district is committed to ensuring our students have the opportunity to participate in CTE. We will revise student schedules and coordinate transportation to allow our students this flexibility.

Special education programs will continue to be offered by OU BOCES five days per week during the 2020-2021 school year and the district will continue to provide transportation for those M-W students who attend these programs.
