Students sign National Letter of Intent to play collegiate sports

Four Monroe-Woodbury High School varsity athletes signed a National Letter of Intent during a recent ceremony at Monroe-Woodbury High School with friends, family and members of the Monroe-Woodbury administration and staff in attendance.

“What a great day for Monroe-Woodbury Athletics! Congratulations to our student athletes who have signed their National Letters of Intent. We are so proud of their athletic and academic accomplishments and wish them the best of luck at their respective schools next year. Thank you for being such positive representatives of the Monroe-Woodbury Central School District,” said M-W Director of Athletics Lori Hock.

Christopher Egan, Swimming and Diving

College: Binghamton University, Vestal, NY
Major: Physics
Career Highlights:

  • 2016-2017 Swimming and Diving Captain
  • School Record Holder in the 6 and 11 dive events
  • 2017 NYS Diving Championship qualifier – 1 meter diving event – 23rd place
  • 2017 Section IX Diving Championships – 2nd place
  • 2016-2017 Coaches Dedication Award recipient

Daniel Fitzpatrick, Lacrosse

  • Winter 2017 – Most Improved Player
  • Spring 2017 – Coaches Award
  • Section IX and County Champions, three years

“I wish to thank Coach Mpasiakos for encouraging me to believe in myself and pushing me to reach new goals. I also want to thank my parents for supporting me in track and my college decision to attend Sacred Heart University,” said Jacobsen.
