Superintendent Update: plan for inclement weather

on December 15, 2020

Message from Superintendent letterhead

December 15, 2020

Dear Monroe-Woodbury families,

Severe wintry weather is forecasted for the region late Wednesday/early Thursday. I am writing to share the district’s plan for Thursday, December 17, in case of inclement weather.

Our plan is to proceed with fully remote instruction for all students on Thursday, December 17, unless there are widespread power outages. Students should follow their current schedules.

I recognize that some out-of-district programs may follow different schedules. Parents and guardians of these students will receive a separate email.

The school district has four snow days built into the student calendar. We will be utilizing traditional snow days only when hybrid, in-person instruction is underway. If all four designated snow days are used, the school district will revert to fully remote instruction on inclement weather days. If any days remain unused, the district will create a plan for giving the days back to students.

Stay warm and safe.

Warm regards,

Elsie Rodriguez
Superintendent of Schools
