M-W CARES presents motivational speaker A’ric Jackson – Jan. 28

on January 24, 2020

On Tuesday, January 28, M-W CARES presenter A’ric Jackson will provide insight as to how to live life in the best way possible, while staying true to yourself and your community. The presentation will take place from 7-8 p.m. in the Monroe-Woodbury High School auditorium, 155 Dunderberg Road, Central Valley. All are welcome to attend this free evening event. Attendance at this evening presentation will fulfill the prom requirement for high school students.

Reminders about the Prom Requirement: A parent/guardian is required to attend at least one presentation with all of their high school age children to meet the prom requirement for that year. An example would be a parent who has children in 9th, 10th and 12th grade. If all three children attend a presentation with a parent/guardian, all three students will have met the requirement.

There will be a check-in process. Please plan accordingly. Students will need to check in with their Google email account.

The remaining presentations are scheduled:

  • March 10, 2020 – 7pm – 8pm at MWHS – ADAC will host a If They Had Known presentation. This documentary program focuses on today’s party culture and the risks of recreationally mixing prescription drugs with alcohol. It is an honest and emotional account. The story is truthful and alarming and has proven to connect with students in a modern way. A panel discussion will follow the 35 minute documentary.
  • April 28, 2020 – 7pm – 8pm at MWHS – M-W CARES DAY Presenter Rick Adam – Rick uses original music, drama, mime, special effects and vaudeville in his compelling autobiographical theatre production (complete with scenery, costumes and props) to explore alcoholism, drug dependency, eating disorders, teen suicide and self-destructive attitudes.

Please contact M-W High School Principal John Kaste if you have any questions. Thank you!
