REMINDER: The online interest form must be submitted by Feb. 13 for your child to be entered into the lottery for Universal Pre-kindergarten.

The Monroe-Woodbury Central School District is excited to announce the continuation of its Universal Pre-kindergarten (UPK) Program for the 2024-2025 school year.

The Monroe-Woodbury UPK program has two models. The first model is an in-district program that is held at Sapphire Elementary School in Harriman, NY. The second model is a partnership between the school district and community organizations who offer classes at their facilities.

During the 2024-2025 school year, we will once again be offering UPK seats at both Little Pals Preschool in Monroe, NY, and Kids Korner in Central Valley, NY. Both programs are overseen by the school district and follow an identical UPK curriculum, with a focus on pre-academic skills and social interactions. All programs are held five days a week and transportation is not provided.

If you are interested in enrolling your child in the M-W UPK program, please provide additional information by completing the online interest form. This form must be submitted no later than Tuesday, February 13, for your child to be considered for the UPK program.

Please note that according to NYS Education Law, children are eligible for UPK who are four years of age on or before December 1, 2024. A child eligible for kindergarten is not eligible for UPK.

The district will once again hold a random lottery of interested individuals to determine enrollment in the UPK program. Children’s names will be entered individually into the lottery. All families will be notified of their child’s status once the lottery has been held. Any student not selected in the lottery will be placed on a waiting list.

Please email [email protected] if you have any questions. Thank you!
