EVERY day should be Pajama Day! CV students had extra special guest readers today (wearing PJs, of course) as they wrapped up their week-long reading celebration. Superintendent of Schools Elsie Rodriguez and Director of Instructional Support Julisa Rincon-Tomizawa entertained students with the fun tale, Creepy Carrots! Mrs. Rodriguez read to the students in Spanish as the English words appeared on the large screen. What a wonderful end to an amazing week! Enjoy the weekend, Crusaders!šš

Our āļøs in the Transportation Department were featured in a recent issue of School Bus Ride Magazine! Bravo!ššš

To show our appreciation for our drivers we have created a bulletin board with safety slogans and inspirational messages in each bus window. We have also created a fun quiz contest. Any employee can take a ticket. On each ticket I ask a bus safety related question each week. Every Friday we pick a random ticket with the correct answer to the question and that person wins a prize.
Love the Bus is about inspiring people, caring about our employees and showing appreciation for all we do to keep our students safe and ready to learn each and every day.

In Mrs. Leach's 3rd grade classroom, a group of young scientists explored various animal species, including ants, ducks, fish, cheetahs, and beavers, oh my! These scientists learned how ants can communicate by only using scent to work together and bring food back to the colony. With such a strong sense of smell, letās hope they donāt come across anything stinky! šÆ š

All Monroe-Woodbury schools and offices will operate on a 2-hour delay schedule tomorrow, Wednesday, January 17, due to icy road conditions and extremely low overnight temperatures. This extra time in the morning will allow crews to treat roads and complete clean-up to ensure safe travel for our students and staff.
The start of the academic day will be as follows:
M-W High School ā 9:08 a.m. start time
M-W Middle School ā 10:15 a.m. start time (AM classes will begin at 9:25 a.m.)
Sapphire and Smith Clove ā 10:30 a.m. start time
Central Valley, North Main and Pine Tree ā 11:15 a.m. start time
Students will be picked up at bus stops approximately two hours later than usual. All buses, both in and out-of-district, will operate on the specified delay schedule.
All CTE programs at BOCES will be bussed based on the Monroe-Woodbury schedule. Students will not be charged for absence from BOCES if buses are not available. BOCES delayed opening cancels morning CTE programs.
Safe travels tomorrow!
