Monroe-Woodbury student Amy Bill was named Valedictorian for John A. Flannery High School, a BOCES school. Bill plans to utilize the cake decorating skills she has learned in the Career & Technical Education program at Orange-Ulster BOCES to work for a local bakery. She has honed her skills decorating cakes, cookies and baked goods. Bill is the recipient of the Academic Achievement Award at John A. Flannery High School, and has worked hard to excel in academics as well as in the culinary program.
Monroe-Woodbury student Matthew McLaughlin has been named Outstanding Student for Marguerite A. Flood High School, where he has pursued his talent and love for artistic pursuits, including digital design and graphic arts. He was awarded a full scholarship to Orange County Community College, but has not yet decided whether he will pursue post-secondary educational options or career interests. McLaughlin is a recipient of the Sojourner Truth Award and the Orange County Sheriff’s Department Certificate of Recognition for his prompt and compassionate response to an individual in need.
