With colorful building blocks in one hand and a lesson plan in the other, Superintendent Norman happily stepped in for Clare Duffy, AIS Math Teaching Assistant at Smith Clove. Working with small groups of kindergarten and first grade students, he helped them learn their addition and subtraction facts, while sharing plenty of smiles along the way. He even learned a few fun facts about the students—from favorite video games to what they love most about school.
There is nothing quite like time spent in a K-1 building to remind you of the joy and curiosity that make this work so meaningful.
