WORLD READ ALOUD DAY will take place on Wednesday, February 1, 2023. Similar to last year, Monroe-Woodbury will be participating in our classrooms, as well as encouraging students and family members to share their storytelling images from home via social media with the hashtag #mw2023wrad. Families may also email photos, including students' names, grades and schools, to communications@mw.k12.ny.us.
For 13 years, WORLD READ ALOUD DAY has called attention to the importance of sharing stories by challenging participants to grab a book, find an audience, and read-aloud. We cannot wait to see what our M-W families are reading!

M-W schools and offices will be closed tomorrow, Wednesday, January 25, due to the forecast for wintry weather conditions and hazardous travel. High School exam information was shared earlier with families via email and may also be found on the HS webpage. Stay warm and safe!

In honor of International Holocaust Remembrance Day, M-W remembers the six million Jewish victims of the Holocaust through books, conversations and meaningful activities. MWMS will hold its second annual Resilience Week in March in collaboration with the Jewish Federation of Greater Orange County and the Holocaust Museum and Center for Tolerance and Education, which provides students an opportunity to listen and learn about the Holocaust. More information will be shared as activities and lessons unfold.
