Dear Monroe-Woodbury Families,

As we wrap up the 2024-2025 school year, I’m thrilled to share some exciting news about new additions to our administrative team, effective July 2025!

Please join me in warmly congratulating Allison Borriello, incoming principal of Sapphire Elementary; Sarah Grom, our new Director of Instructional Support; and Rafael Vásquez Jr., the incoming principal of Monroe-Woodbury Middle School. We are energized by the talent, experience and passion these educators bring to our district!

Allison Borriello
Ms. Borriello joins us from Walden Elementary in the Valley Central School District, where she currently serves as Interim Assistant Principal. Her leadership experience includes an administrative internship at East Coldenham Elementary, work as a K-5 Math Consultant, and time in the classroom as an elementary special education teacher. We can’t wait to see all she will accomplish at Sapphire Elementary and are excited for our students and families to give her a warm Monroe-Woodbury welcome!

Sarah Grom
Mrs. Grom will step into the role of Director of Instructional Support, bringing a wealth of knowledge and a strong commitment to supporting M-W students. Mrs. Grom comes to Monroe-Woodbury from Putnam\Northern Westchester BOCES, where she serves as a Special Education Trainer & Coordinator of the Lower Hudson Regional Partnership Center (LHRPC). She is also an Adjunct Professor at Manhattanville University. Her previous experience includes teaching positions and leadership experience in the Haldane Central School District.

Rafael Vásquez Jr.
Mr. Vásquez is already a valued member of our district leadership team, having served as Assistant Principal at Monroe-Woodbury High School since 2022. Prior to joining our district, he served as Assistant Principal at Newburgh Free Academy and worked for the NYC Department of Education as both a bilingual school counselor and Spanish teacher. We’re excited to see him bring his energy and leadership to Monroe-Woodbury Middle School!

We are thrilled to have these outstanding leaders join our dynamic and dedicated team. Over the summer, we’ll be working closely with them to ensure a smooth transition and a strong start to the 2025-2026 school year.

Wishing you a restful, joyful summer break. We’ll be working hard throughout the summer months to prepare for an amazing new school year ahead!

Warm regards,

Tracy Norman, Ed.D.
