“My struggle is my strength!” That’s the slogan motivational speaker and author of the book “I’m Just a Kid with an IEP,” Jordan Toma wears proudly. During a captivating assembly at MWMS, Mr. Toma shared stories about his childhood, his academic struggles and his number one supporter, his mom. The energy in the air was electric as he encouraged students to speak up, participate in class, and never give up.
Beyond inspiring young people with learning disabilities, Mr. Toma is also a financial advisor. He revealed that he failed 11,000 practice tests in one year before taking the final exam and passing on his second attempt. While some Crusaders gasped in disbelief, Mr. Toma told them, “In life, especially in school and even when you’re out of school you have to go for it. Go for it if you’re scared. Go for it if you’re nervous. Even if you get it wrong—you gotta go for it!”
This incredible opportunity was made possible through a collaboration between MWMS and MWMS PTA. While Mr. Toma’s focus is on younger students, his message transcends generations.
