Super Sub Tracy Norman, Peter Giorgio

One, two, three, four…Middle School orchestra students weren’t counting the last days of school, they were helping Superintendent Norman catch the beat as he filled in for orchestra teacher, Mr. Peter Giorgio, during the last Super Sub of the school year.

In a role reversal, these musicians acted as tutors and conductors as they gave Superintendent Norman his first cello and violin lessons. Eager to use his bow, Crusaders first taught him the basics of string plucking and getting familiar with the instrument. While explaining quarter, half, whole notes and tempo, many students revealed they began playing their instrument in the third or fourth grade.

Assisted by teacher Mika Leonard, Superintendent Norman peppered students with many questions as he learned to play Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star and highly recognizable Hot Cross Buns.
