This past summer, Lidia Zarate Gonzalez, President of Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD), and Vice President Isabella Riva-Gonzalez represented their chapter at the National Leadership Summit in Cleveland, Ohio. Centered on the theme "Back to '81," the founding year of SADD, the summit commemorated 45 years of service placing a strong emphasis on peer interaction and leadership growth.
MWHS students took part in a “Back to ‘81” themed Spirit Day on September 18, National SADD Day. Crusaders wrote positive messages on a special interactive banner, listened to music from the ‘80’s and took photos while enjoying special treats from this era.
Many Crusaders also signed the “Contract for Life,” which is a SADD pledge committing to making safe, positive choices and looking out for each other.
It was a fun way for our Crusaders to turn back the clock while reinforcing the importance of protecting their future through safe choices.
