The sunrise was picture-perfect this past Saturday for the annual Hudson Valley Honor Flight. This incredible organization transports local veterans to Washington, D.C. to visit their memorials at no cost.
Among those on board were Crusaders, Maryella Kearney and varsity baseball captain Liam Hayes, who served as youth guardians. In this vital role, guardians are paired with veterans to ensure their trip is safe, comfortable and deeply personal. Prior to departure, the community gathered together to celebrate these men and women who sacrificed so much for their country.
It was an unforgettable experience for the students and a well-deserved tribute to our nation’s heroes.
