The MWHS Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) chapter will be hosting its annual blood drive on Friday, March 14. We're just 62 donations away from reaching a milestone of 5,000 donations through our drives. Since each pint can save 3 lives, our Crusaders have already helped save over 15,000 lives! Due to forecasts calling for prolonged wintry weather conditions, all Monroe-Woodbury schools and offices will be closed tomorrow, Thursday, February 6. The Club Kid program and all after school activities are canceled. Out-of-district students will not be transported.

The Monroe-Woodbury Music Boosters Scholarship program seeks to reward those select students in grades 4-12 who demonstrate outstanding musicianship and success in their dedication to music. These students’ confidence and passion for learning music will be apparent in Chorus, Band, Orchestra, or any combination of these ensembles. Scholarships will be presented to winners during each school’s spring concerts. Scholarships are cash awards, with the amounts to be determined depending on the number of winners. Due to icy road conditions affecting our area, all Monroe-Woodbury schools and offices will operate on a 2-hour delay schedule on Friday, January 31. Students will be picked up at bus stops two hours later than usual.  The start of the academic day will be as follows: M-W High School – 9:08 a.m. start time M-W Middle School – 10:15 a.m. start time (AM classes will begin at 9:25 a.m. Sapphire and Smith Clove – 10:15 a.m. start time Sapphire UPK – 10:40 a.m. start time Central Valley, North Main and Pine Tree – 11:15 a.m. start time Club Kid A.M. will not be held. All buses, both in and out-of-district, will operate on the specified delay schedule.  All CTE programs at BOCES will be bussed based on the Monroe-Woodbury schedule. Students will not be charged for absence from BOCES if buses are not available. BOCES delayed opening cancels morning CTE programs. Safe travels, Crusaders!

Broadway better watch out! Smith Clove students were treated to their PTA’s lunchtime theater performance of “Sneezy the Snowman” and it was a smash hit! ⛄️

First grader Ryan drew a picture of his classmate Erick with a special gratitude message as part of the district's #attitudeofgratitude initiative. Tomorrow is opening day! The Monroe-Woodbury Drama Club is proud to present Ken Ludwig's "The Three Musketeers" on Nov. 15 & 16 at 7 p.m. in the HS auditorium. This celebrated adaptation is based on the timeless swashbuckler by Alexandre Dumas, a tale of heroism, treachery, close escapes, and above all, honor. Ahoy! M-W is celebrating National School Lunch Week from October 14-18. This year's campaign theme, “School Lunch Pirates: Find Your Treasure,” highlights the importance of a healthy school lunch to a student’s success both in and out of the classroom. School lunches offer students fruits and vegetables, whole grains and milk, and meet federal nutrition standards limiting fat, calories, and sodium in all meals. Additionally, all M-W students are eligible to eat both breakfast and lunch at school free of charge, every day! 🏴‍☠️🍎
